Viscosity
Glass and filament
3’x1’x3.5’
2015
The definition of viscosity refers to the “internal friction measured by forces resisting a flow”; fitting because I like to explore the friction or dichotomy between feminine iconography and resistance against those same social conventions, starting with realistically intricate lacy pink floral glass wafers purposely distorted into unrecognizable round fertile like shapes with spiky protrusions and long needle like extensions suggesting dangerous sharpness despite a superficial graceful fragility.
